The First Visit to the Olympic Venues

I met-up with the MOMMIETRON and her friend, Sandy downtown to check-out a couple of the Olympic venues this morning. Here they are in front of the VAG which is also doubling as the BC Pavilion during the games. On the other side at Robson Square, a zip-line provided by Ziptrek Ecotours! It's free, but apparently there was a 4 hour wait in line for it! At the Ontario House now... A better angle... We watched a 4D movie here. It was 6 minutes long, but it was cool!!! When you watch it, you'll understand why they leave the front row empty in their little theatre. Inside the house... Recyclable containers behind the ladies... I finally tried their Cheesecake on a Stick! Chef Jamie Kennedy was preparing his cooking demonstration. This is the entrance of the Molson Canadian Hockey House. Outside of the Quebec House... Inside the Saskatchewan Pavilion, you can get a free photo shoot with various props and backgrounds! Like this one! They had a couple of Mounties here too! It was my turn to get into the shot. "Point to the Philippines!" Time to visit the Sochi House... The Russians have a good looking wardrobe, but it's expensive! We got a couple of photos with a torch bearer!
They have the jerseys of some of my favourite hockey players on display here: Pavel Bure, Sergei Fedorov, and Alexander Mogilny. I've always admired the Russians. Ovechkin's jersey! Russia will be hosting the next Winter Olympics in 2014! I went home shortly after only to find out that tragedy had hit the games today.
Georgian luger, Nodar Kumaritashvili had died in an accident during a training run today. Our deepest condolences go out to his teammates, family, and friends.
