Austin Trip (Day 1)

We were up, bright and early for our drive down to Seattle this morning! Thank goodness, traffic wasn't that bad today towards Sea-Tac. Yay! Our flight to Austin had WiFi Internet. Boo! You had to pay for it. :-( Our flight down was pretty smooth. Eeeehaaaw!!! We're finally here! Angela inside the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport... That artwork to the top-left of the photo reminds me of the Space Battleship Yamato! Look, they've got guitars of art on display throughout the city! Graham, Sarah, and their daughter, Scarlett came to pick us up! They took us to an area of the city called SoCo, (South Congress). This seems to be a popular place to shop and eat. There goes Clan Fraser. Scarlett was having fun with her Aunt Annie. The stores on this strip were decorated with so much colour. "Nachooo!!!" Angela with her favourite niece, Scarlett inside Guero's Taco Bar... The kids were lovin' the little fish pond. Graham and Sarah told us that Quentin Tarantino used this restaurant as one of the locations for his movie "Death Proof"! Scarlett drawing a picture of my face... Graham, Angela, and Sarah... Angela with another one of those guitars... The smile of Scarlett... Ang and I split this Taco dish. Finally, Scarlett began to eat. Group shot... LOL! Observe the look on Scarlett's face. Our new baby, Buzz Lightyear... "Toy Story 4"?!? Graham, Sarah, Angela, Tom, and James in front of Star Bar... We met Sarah's sister, Kirstie and Sarah's future brother-in-law, Ryan here. Brother and sister pump-up the volume... The British have come! Ryan's side of the family are from Detroit, Michigan! I got hungry, so I bought a Pulled-Pork Sandwich. The bar stars... We walked over to another venue, the Ranch. This bar had a great patio! Angela needs to buy a cowboy hat. This place was huge! I made a heart for my baby. ;-) It got a little chilly tonight, so we got some warmth by the fireplace. The Texas Longhorn is a popular image in this city. After clubbing, some of us were hungry, so we looked for a taco stand. We didn't believe it at first, but Graham guaranteed us there was one in the area. He was right! Walking back to our hotel, Angela and I spotted a live band performance. The exterior of this nightclub caught my attention. As well as this restaurant! Ang and I also checked out a little jazz club called the Elephant Room. Finally, back at our hotel. Here's a few shots of our suite at the Hampton Inn & Suites Austin-Downtown. We didn't expect this. It was the largest room on the floor! Okay, I'm sleepy now. Before our trip, Angela and I ordered a few things online and had them shipped to our hotel. They were waiting for us at the hotel desk as we checked-in!
