Chicken Little (Day 33)

I went over to the Reunion Pictures office this morning for a fitting.  Along the way, I took this photo of the icicles in this tunnel.
I had a good view of Grouse Mountain from here!
I should go skiing soon.
Of course, I just had to drop by the local JJ Bean.  ;-)
Finally at work, I got a chance to watch some more episodes of "Sons of Anarchy".
A bunch of us were here today!
And would you look at this.  I (Showbiz Management) bumped into Martina on set!  Turns out she was invited by the show's producer/director to shadow him for the day.  It was hard not to spot her beautiful smile in the hallway.  :-)

I Hate the Grind!!!

After dropping off some video at Troy's, I decided to go for a walk through his neighbourhood. This is the apartment building my parents and I lived in when we first moved to Vancouver back in 1979! Ahhh, the memories... Later in the evening, Jess and Nicholas picked me up and we drove over to Grouse Mountain to do the Grind. We all know who the star is in this photo. ;-) I really hate the Grind, so I finished it in 45 minutes. Jess did it in 70 minutes and Nicholas completed the hike in 52 minutes. It really sucks that it costs $10 to take the gondola back down. It used to be so cheap before! Now, the Grind is more popular than ever, so the resort raises the price?!? Fuck them!!! I eventually bit the bullet and shelled out the dough. "You can't put a price on fun," I said.
Nicholas replied, "But Grouse does."
LOL!
Thanks for the workout, you guys!!!

An Action-Packed Saturday

The day had come for Chelsea and Chera to do the Grouse Grind! Boris was their ride up here. Thanks for driving, Deuma!!! Boris and I joined the girls in support of their fundraising for Douglas College's UGANDA PROJECT! They're going to Uganda next year in April for a practicum! Chera and Chelsea all ready to conquer the Grind... And there they go! "Hey, wait for us!" Credit Chera for making the signs last night and credit Melanie for the idea. Actually, I hate this stupid climb. The lift down used to cost $5.00, now they charge $10.00 for it! While taking a breather, the woman at the bottom-right of this photo reached into her wallet... and gave the girls a donation! Yay!!! Donations are still welcome. Any funds raised by the girls will be matched by Douglas College! Chelsea ran into another student going on their trip, Stephanie. Chera with another girl from their group to Uganda, Francis... Some of the students in their group are staying longer than 2 months! "Maverick, you're at 3/4 of a mile... Call the ball." We finally made it to the peak after an hour and 15 minutes of climbing. From the top, Boris yelled-out, "Carina!!!" Good job, Chera!!! Good job, Chelsea!!! The signs were doing their job. A lot of people asked the girls about the project! The stars of the day... Victory is ours!!! 7 months to go, girls! Chelsea and Chera raised $117 this morning! They even got a donation on the ride down. They're high-rollers now. LOL! We went to Bon's Off Broadway for brunch because we got so hungry from our hike. Boris really liked the price of their Breakfast Special. LOL! Courtesy of Boris... Yay, we got a booth! Now, I'm the baller! This is their Breakfast Special! I ordered the Pancakes & Bacon! The food is good and cheap here, worth another return. On the way to dinner, Boris had me take a photo of this gate's feet. LOL! Boris in front of Clubhouse Sushi... We were meeting Melinda here. Miso Soup... I ordered their Chicken Teriyaki with Tempura Shrimp & Vegetables. We were in the spirit to watch fighting samurais tonight. Mel offered to fix Boris' plate for the photo. I also got the Salmon Avocado Cream Cheese Roll. After dinner, we drove down to the Park Theatre. I bumped into Ian and Surya in the line-up! We were all here to watch the 2010 Vancouver International Film Festival's showing of "13 Assassins". Sadly, we couldn't get an extra ticket for Boris, so he just went home. :-( When the movie finished, I went down to Library Square to meet Chera and her friends. They were here to celebrate Brenda's birthday. Chera spent the whole evening dancing! LOL! '80s night here is pretty fun! Happy Birthday Brenda!!! "Bye, Kenji." On the bus ride home, Chera and I ran into Chelsea! What are the chances, eh?!? This day was truly 'action-packed'. LOL!
