A Role-Playing Job!

I went down to the River Rock Casino this morning...
to meet Brittnie for a little role-playing job.
OOPS (Ounce Of Prevention Solutions Inc.) hired us to participate is some mock interviews with investigator trainees.  It was fun and it was a great opportunity to do some acting!  :-)
Big thanks to Brittnie for hooking me up with this gig!!!  :-)
After I was done, I went downtown to do some errands and take the Woman of Steel out for dinner.
She in-turn took me out for dessert!  :-)

Lesley & Leslie

"To be or not to be?"
Lesley invited a bunch of us over for one of her painting parties,
but this time it was different.  She had us each uniquely paint a Frankenstein's Monster head for $100!  Her production plans to give them away to employees of the week.  ;-)
Thank you Lesley!!!  :-)
Next, I was off to the River Rock Hotel to celebrate the life of Carolyn's late husband Terry.  Paula and a bunch of us enjoyed the swimming pool...
and then some of us went upstairs for the buffet.  It turns out Carolyn's sister-in-law is Leslie.  25 years ago, she and I worked together at Central Guaranty Trust!  It took me awhile to figure it out, but after listening to her voice for a few minutes at dinner, it all came back to me.  Her husband Rob said, "The world just got smaller!"  LOL!
After all the eats, we retired in Carolyn's suite.
We had a few drinks and chatted until 04:00!  It was great to meet Carolyn's friends and family and of course, re-connecting with Leslie was pretty crazy.
Gratitude to Carolyn for a lovely time and my condolences to all that were close to Terry.

The '94 Vancouver Canucks

I found out my favourite hockey team, the 1994 Vancouver Canucks were going to be signing autographs at the River Rock Casino this afternoon, so I made my way down! It was quite the turnout! I guess people still haven't forgotten the efforts that this team put out 17 years ago. :-) I, of course will never forget. This particular team will always have my heart. :-) I must have waited almost 2 hours in this line-up! The Lissner Twins were here too with their aunt! Finally, some autographs! I had Jeff Brown sign my stick first. Then the popular enforcer, Gino Odjick... And the tough defenceman, Gerald Diduck... We were all expecting to get Kirk McLean's autograph, but I guess he got tired and left. :-( I was actually hoping there would be more players from the team, but only three of them were at the table. "Oh wait, there's Martin Gelinas!" Gino getting interviewed by Jason Pires of CTV British Columbia... It was starting to get crazy down there! I was able to make my way back into the signing area to get Gelinas' signature! ;-) This guy's work ethic was so integral in our '94 run for the cup. He also helped the Carolina Hurricanes get to the Finals in 2002 and played another major role with the Calgary Flames in their campaign of 2004! 'The Eliminator' signs my pink stick... "Ah fuck, there's Kirk McLean!" Sucks, I couldn't get him to sign though. :-( This is weird, McLean and Brown in close proximity?!?
Damn, I really miss this team.

Saturday Night Main Events

Tonight, I met Boris at River Rock to watch the George St. Pierre fight. You can't take photos in the casino, so I went out in the foyer to take shots of the Christmas decorations here. I liked this little ice rink. ;-) After the fight, I went downtown to the Century House for the "True Justice" wrap party. I ran into Surya and Olga at the door! When I got upstairs, I saw Derek and Elizabeth! Posing with Raymond... That big guy in the middle is not Steven Seagal, it's his photo-double, Chris! Big thanks to Annette and my agents for getting me work on this production!!! Shaun, Nora, and Crystal were here too! Olga, Surya, and Elizabeth... "When are we all going out for oysters?" It was pretty packed up here! I stepped out for a bit and walked one block down to the Red Room to see a burlesque show. Chera invited me down to watch her dance on stage! Here she goes. I just want to be in my underwear now. ;-) Nice lighting. Hey, Jim was here! Good job, Chera!!! She was done her dancing, so I went back to the wrap party. I finally got a shot with Mike. Whoa, Johnson's got blonde hair now! Posing with the actors, Sarah Lind and Elizabeth Thai... "Hi Elle!" Thanks to Elizabeth, I got a photo with Francoise Yip. I told her that I'll never forget her work in "Rumble in the Bronx". :-) Derek's got pecs! And there's Francoise photo-bombing in the back. LOL! After the party, I met-up with Chera to go home. As you can see, the security guard at the station didn't know how to use my camera. :-( Chera and the Christmas tree... Riding the Skytrain... Now, with my crooked teeth... We dropped by Uncle Fatih's for some Pizza before taking the bus home. :-)
