Iron Road (Day 3)

We were supposed to work today, but the rainfall we had last night washed out the roads to the set, so production cancelled the shoot. Even with an overcast, Kamloops is still beautiful. I got a delightful surprise when I came down from my room this morning. Stacy signed on to the show. The autographed Kamloops Blazers jersey in the foyer...It was good to see a familiar face out here. Some of us decided to use the barbecue grill on the patio. Here's Jeff grilling his sausages... Ironically, this show is a bit of a sausage fest. LOL!!! I barbecued a steak that I got from the local M & M Meat Shop.At least, I got a chance to watch the Anaheim Ducks win the Stanley Cup.

Canucks Lose 2-1 and the Series 4-1...

Well, Vancouver's season is officially over after losing to Anaheim in double overtime. The Canucks have failed in their quest for the Holy Grail, but have succeeded in making my life a little easier now. I don't have to worry about being scheduled to work on game days anymore. Hey, there's always next season and now they know better. I just feel bad for Trevor Linden. I hope he doesn't retire. I really wish he would stay on the team for a few more seasons. If there's one guy I want to win the Stanley Cup, it's definitely him. Please don't go, Trevor. Stay...

Canucks Lose 3-2...

I was so pissed at this game, that I started writing this blog before the overtime started. It's like I already knew what was going to happen. How could Vancouver lose, after leading 2-0 going into the third period? Unacceptable, it's absolutely unacceptable! I just hate how they go into a shutdown mode when they have the lead. "Keep fucking attacking!" I always say. Talk about demoralizing, this is probably the game that will win the series for the Anaheim Ducks, which is okay because then I don't have to write about these losers (Canucks) again. Canucks Lose 3-2...

After starting the game with so much energy, the Canucks fell behind 1-0 after the first shot on goal by the Ducks. Vancouver actually played pretty well against Anaheim, but it was their anemic power plays that killed them. If the Canucks can fix this problem, I believe they can actually go all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals. Honestly, I'm quite surprised on how well they're doing so far. I thought the Ducks would be all over them tonight, but Vancouver outplayed them for most of the game. Well, at least our captain, Markus Naslund scored again. Canucks Win 2-1!!!

Thanks to a double overtime goal by Jeff Cowan, the Canucks have tied the series with the Ducks, 1-1. With a lot of blue collar work and a beautiful between-the-legs back pass by Trevor Linden, the Brabarian was able to sneak the puck by Ducks' goalie, Jean-Sebastien Giguere to score his second goal of the series. Yeah, baby!!! Once again, an excellent performance by my main man, Linden and yay, Markus Naslund scored too (the first goal of the game). I watched the whole thing go down at Jocelyn and Allan's place. Joce thought Al and I were going to kiss because we were so stoked after the winning goal. Fuck that shit! Canucks Lose 5-1...

Basically, the Ducks just schooled the Canucks and handed them their asses tonight. The game started all right for Vancouver when Jeff Cowan scored the first goal, but then things changed when Anaheim scored five unanswered goals. The Ducks' top scoring line of Teemu Selanne, Andy McDonald, and Chris Kunitz did most of the damage, accounting for nine points with McDonald scoring a hat trick! The friendly rivalry between general managers, Brian Burke and David Nonis reminds me of a scene from "Pumping Iron", when Arnold Schwarzenegger was asked about his thoughts of competing against his friend, Franco Columbu. Canucks Win 4-1and take the Series 4-3!!!

Holy Shit!!! The Vancouver Canucks actually pulled it off. They won Game 7 tonight against the Dallas Stars! Thank God..., because I wrote the Canucks off after their loss in Game 5. I really thought the Stars were going to take this one. Even when Vancouver was up 2-1, I thought Modano was going to tie it up. He almost scored, but hit the post when he pulled a "give & go" move that you would normally see in a Playstation game, Phew! The goalies once again were the stars in this game, but my hero, Trevor Linden scored the winning goal. Damn it, I just love the guy! He's always been the "Mister Clutch" of our team. He finished tonight's game with a goal and an assist, Yay! The Canucks now advance to the second round to face the Ducks in Anaheim on Wednesday at 7:00 pm (Pacific Time). Canucks Lose 2-0...

Well, the Stars have tied up the series with the Canucks, 3-3. I didn't bother to watch this game because I kind of knew what the outcome would be. We've all seen this formula play out before and I'm sad to say, it's probably over for Vancouver now. The momentum is on Dallas' side, and they now have all the confidence in the world going into the series deciding Game 7, plus Mike Modano scored tonight. That's the last guy you want to be playing with confidence. I'd be surprised if the Canucks can pull this one out of the bag. The next game is in Vancouver on Monday at 6:00 pm (Pacific Time). Canucks Lose 1-0...

The Dallas Stars were able to stave off elimination tonight with an overtime goal by Brenden Morrow. The Canucks took a penalty for "too many men" after a sloppy line change which gave the Stars the perfect opportunity to score on a power play. Morrow was able to redirect a point shot from Sergei Zubov and score on Roberto Luongo to force a Game Six. I watched the whole thing take place at Jocelyn and Allan's. Man, what a downer. The Canucks beat the Stars, 2-1 in overtime tonight, thanks to a goal by Taylor Pyatt. He was able to get a quick shot past a stunned-looking, Marty Turco after receiving a pass from Bryan Smolinski. Canucks Win 5-4!!!

Holy smokes, the game finally ended in the fourth overtime with Henrik Sedin scoring. It lasted almost 6 hours with Vancouver being severely outplayed by Dallas, but somehow the Canucks were able to hang in there to defeat the Stars.
