Canucks vs. Flyers

Boris invited me to tonight's game!
And it was in his company's suite!?!  :-)
I watched the game as I ate.  ;-)
As I looked-up into the rafters,
I spotted the retired numbers of my favourite players!  :-)
I missed the first period because I was still asleep at home, so I hoped that the game would go into overtime and then a shoot-out.  And you know what?  It did!
The home team was victorious!  :-)
Big thanks to Boris and Hilda for the suite experience!!!  ;-)

Goodbye to Three Hat Pat

Sad news today because my favourite hockey coach, Pat Quinn passed away today at the age of 71.  I'll never forget the time when some fans and I met him outside of the Pacific Coliseum after the Vancouver Canucks '91-'92 season.  As he signed autographs, the others kept asking him on his outlook for the next season, but when he came to me I asked him, "What kind of gum do you chew?"  He looked at me and laughed.  "Sugarless, anything sugarless," he replied.

Goodbye Pat Quinn.  :-(

'94 Forever!!!

Canucks vs Oilers

Niko and I were at Rogers Arena tonight to watch the Edmonton Oilers play against the Vancouver Canucks!  His cousin Athina couldn't go to the game, so she gave him her tickets.
I can't even remember the last time I watched an NHL game here.
Niko pointed-out the new banner in the rafters.
There it is!
Pavel Bure's Number 10!!!  The Russian Rocket immortalized above us.
This is so awesome!  The whole time we were watching the game, I would heckle Ryan Kesler because of the way he got Tony fired from his job.  It turns out Kesler's wife was sitting right behind us!  LOL!

While we walked up to the Centre Ice Grill, I heard Bryce call my name, so we picked-up a couple of beers from him!
Since we still had drinks in our hands, we didn't bother going into the restaurant.  Instead, we got Rich to step outside for a photo with us.  ;-)
Here's the wall of fame for the retired numbers.
Top Row: Stan Smyl and Trevor Linden.
Bottom Row: Pavel Bure and Markus Naslund.
The Russian Rocket's gear.
I actually have this jersey!

He's my favourite player of all time!
It's amazing how cheap the tickets were back then.

Man, these skates have taken a beating!
An impressive display, I must say.
Linden's locker.
These were put to good use back in the day.
After the game, Niko and I had a late meal at Joe Fortes.
Sadly, the Oilers lost tonight, but we still had fun.  :-(

Gratitude to Niko for the night out and to Athina for the game tickets!!!  :-)

Welcome Back BURE!!! :-)

You wanna know who inspired me to play and watch hockey?  This guy, Pavel Bure the Russian Rocket!!!  He's quite possibly the best player ever to have worn a Canucks jersey.  Man, I've missed this guy!  :-)

Round One: Game One

At the gym today, someone dressed-up as Force or Sully.  I couldn't tell.
I didn't want to do this, but Kelsey convinced me.  LOL!
In the evening, I went down to Rogers Arena...
to do some work with...
the KaiZen Creative Group!  Our task tonight was to hand-out posters at the end of the game.
The concourse level was busy as expected.
With that 'Volunteer' pass, you can get a 50% discount from most of the food vendors here!  By the way, we got paid to work, so I don't know why they gave us these particular passes.
We chilled in the River Rock Club as we waited for the game to end.
I love working this gig because it keeps me close to the all the action.
Inder loves Trevor Linden!  LOL!  I do too.  :-)

Home Improvement

Yup, the bathroom looks much better now!  I picked-up this little rug from the CBC Studios Store in Downtown Vancouver for $33.60 CAD.  The vintage logo is also available for the same price.

A Beautiful Day to Work

Make us proud tonight, Lucic!!! This morning, I bussed over to UBC's Thunderbird Stadium for work. Blake and Lisa were our wranglers today. Are you kidding me? Someone actually brought a 2 litre bottle of Coke to work!?! Is it work or is it a picnic? LOL! I (Showbiz Management) thought I'd take in some sun and sit outside. Adiam (In-Motion) and Brad (Local Color)... The Millennial Time Machine... I wish I could use this to go back to the '94 Playoffs. ;-) Oh wow, we spotted a Dragonfly up close! This was a pleasant surprise. Not only was I (Showbiz Management) hired as a background performer, but I also had to be a photo-double! Cha-ching!!! Beef Stroganoff for lunch! There's Dan enjoying his lunch under the sun. See? I'm (Showbiz Management) prepared for the riots tonight. ;-) Sure I (Showbiz Management) was missing Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals, but at least I was making money. ;-) Ntsikie had an acting role today! She played the 'Frightened Employee'. Oh look what crafty made, a loser cake! We want the what? LOL!
Production: Click the entry's title.
Type of Call: Cattle, 220 Background.
Length of Call: 8 1/4 hours.
Yay, Tim Thomas won the Conn Smythe Trophy after the game! He beat the Canucks by shutting them out! There goes Zdeno Chara lifting up that mug! And now, the MVP of this year's playoffs... Congratulations to Milan Lucic and the Boston Bruins for winning the Stanley Cup this year!!! Of course after the game, the worst fans in the NHL got frustrated and began a riot! The city mobilized the riot squad, but they could only do so much. The idiots were so brazen even in front of all the cameras around them! Oh sure, these aren't true Canucks fans. Well then, this guy must be wearing a fake jersey or something. ;-) This marshmallow roast will put Vancouver on the map again. It's '94 all over again. :-( What a fucken loser!!! Is this what we live for?!? Lighting cars on fire and looting?!? A beautiful day turned into a terrible night. It's a good thing I went straight home after work. ;-)
