Operation: EYE OF THE STORM (Day 9)

The day of dread had finally arrived. It was time for us to leave the beautiful British Virgin Islands. We definitely want to come back, but we want to take this boat out the next time! Most of the yachts returned to the harbour in anticipation of Hurricane Omar's arrival. I drank what was left of our Coke. I'm going to miss it here. I really loved sailing these islands! Captain Fatty cleaning up... Most of our group had to leave on an earlier flight. Only Jeff, Gavin, James, and I stayed at the port since we were catching a much later flight. As Fatty was leaving... We were chillin' with these Norwegians who took part in the 27th Annual Interline Regatta. They were here to represent the airline, Wideroe in the race. We called them "Team Viking". LOL!!! They were so cool! They offered us beer and gave Jeff and I some hats. Obviously, we exchanged contact information with them. As we waited for our shuttle to arrive, some babes on waves arrived next to us. Uhhh yeah... Next time, baby... Next time... Some more babes... The rest of eventually caught our flights back. We had an overnight layover in Miami, so Jeff rented a car and booked a hotel suite. He took us for an evening tour of South Beach, but I didn't bring my camera because it was dark and I knew it's limits. Big thanks to Flex for driving us around!!! On the way to Seattle, I snapped shots of these mountains. They look like dormant volcanoes! This marked the end of our adventure at the British Virgin Islands. I'm sure we all have great memories of this trip, but I can't wait to do it again next year! This time I want to enter a regatta and kick some ass!!! It's such a great place with friendly people. I highly recommend visiting these islands. It's an experience you'll never forget. Honestly, I get sad looking at these past photos because I wish I was still there. Big thanks to the Kleider Brothers for organizing this getaway!!! Operation: EYE OF THE STORM (Mission Accomplished)

Operation: EYE OF THE STORM (Day 8)

It's morning at Soper's Hole and I've come to realize that our vacation is almost over. "Hey, what's our dinghy doing at the back of the Wildcat?" It was a little cloudy today. Fatty and a bunch of us decided to check out the town. I'm wearing my Bobby's Market Place shirt! Like routine, we always dump our garbage at port and I like to dump something else as well. "Where the washroom?" LOL!!! We ran into a local as we roamed through the stores. It was just Nicholas. Captain Serious and Mike trying on some dreadlocks... Our captain too? Mike and the City... Lila and I sat for a bit at Pusser's Landing Restaurant. At one point, the wind started to blow really hard which seemed a little ominous. Back in our dinghy now... We raised our sails one last time and headed out to sea. Andy actually fractured one of his toes on this trip! Team Flex in the house! I love that shirt! Unfortunately, we got news that there was a threat of Hurricane Omar approaching soon, so Captain Nicholas gave the order to return early to Inner Harbour at Road Town. I radioed the Wildcat to organize a little photo op. The crew of the Wildcat all wearing their uniform... 7 crew salute... I'll never forget these moments. Captain Fatty designed our shirts and he got them produced at EmbroidMe in Vancouver. Our turn now... The crew of the Offshore Haven... "Meet you at the port!!!" Our destination in sight... Lila at the helm... I can see myself. It was a bit sombre heading back because we still wanted to do so much more. We eventually brought our ship back to the Moorings Yacht Charter Base and tied her up. Evening arrived and we all decided to go out for dinner, But organizing 14 minds takes a little time, So I got a chance to nap for a bit. LOL!!! Andy and Lila had the same idea. We finally took our dinghy to a restaurant at the Village Cay Marina Hotel. We were so damn hungry because the others took so long to get ready. Tamara and Nick's crew eventually arrived to meet us. Fatty titled this photo, "The Cancer Crew". I ordered some delicious Ribs and Rice. I was freakin' because it started to rain really hard! I helped the restaurant's staff batten down. Yeah, baby!!! Much to the surprise of the restaurant's staff and patrons, Nicholas jumped off the railing and into the harbour! LOL!!! Captain Serious all wet and wasted... A bunch of the guys ordered lobster for dinner!!! "Eat hearty... For tonight... We dine in HELL!!!" Popa Fett and the Ed Rocker... These two locals are Ben and Alex and they actually work for Moorings. Ben is originally from Cape Cod and Alex is from Montreal. Alex was funny, she asked me if they could have a photo with the "crazy big drunk guy". LOL!!! Back on our boat, Captain Serious was at it again. Doing his dance... And making some noise!!! Andy and Alex... (Too bad she closed her eyes in this shot.) As promised, Ben and Alex dropped by our boat to party. They're a cool couple. They get hired as captain and cook for some Moorings' charters. This was the last night we would spend in the British Virgin Islands.
