Ride, Wine, and Dine

Earlier this afternoon, I rode down to Creekside Park to check out the MEC Bikefest. There were a lot of stands here, but it looked like the VPD stand was the most popular because they offered free bike engravings. The weather was perfect for the event! Later, I rode MOMO to the Vancouver Olympic Village to check out the big birds! These sculptures are kind of cool. Nick said the bird looked like it was perched on MOMO. "Do the chickens have large talons?" There's only 2 birds in the plaza. It was nice to finally get a closer look at these properties. They've been open to the public for quite some time now. What MOMO rocks... In the evening, Nick invited me to the Wine, Food & Music Festival at Metropolis! There was a lot of wine tasting going on here. A good turnout too! Reminds me of "The Cove". It's neat how they transformed this area into a temporary patio. We began to line-up for the Cactus Club stand's... Sliders! By the time we got to the front, there were only 35 burgers left. We had to wait for the top of the buns to come. LOL! Victory at hand! I grabbed a photo with Marney, one of the hostesses. The Forbidden Fruit Winery stand was my favourite by far because their wines were so delicious and sweet! Posing with Marie and Rob... Nick and Marie... They also had a Cupcakes stand here! I must have eaten 4. PBO spotted! There were a few here! Cupcake!!! This was my fourth. The most fairest of them all... Posing with the girls of the Beaumont Family Estate Winery... I thought I'd take a better photo of them this time. I grabbed one of the Cactus Club girls to take a photo with near the end of the event. Vicky and Rick... Turns out Rick has worked as the Sound Guy on shows such as "Battlestar Galactica", "Defying Gravity", and "Eureka"! I've worked on all of those productions, but this is our first time meeting each other?!? Nick and I ended our night at Trocadero. Gratitude to Nick!!!

Holy Smokes! Fire that Guy!!!

Check out this video! It's the old William Davis Centre (an acting school) in Downtown Vancouver getting demolished, but it doesn't exactly go as planned.
As if the first try wasn't enough of an EPIC FAIL, the operator goes for the title! Man, it's a good thing nobody got hurt. I actually have some friends that live in the area!

HAWKS WIN!!! HAWKS WIN!!!

It took 49 years of waiting, but the Chicago Blackhawks have won the Stanley Cup!!! You gotta love Jonathan Toews aka 'Captain Serious'. That's an Olympic Gold Medal and a Stanley Cup all in one year for this kid! I love who handed it to next. This guy finally got to hoist it after 3 straight trips to the Final. Everyone (including me) was beginning to think Marian Hossa was cursed, but not anymore. LOL! Looks like it's coming to BC soon since there's a bunch players on the team from here. Congratulations to them all!!! Nick and I couldn't workout yet because we had to finish the game, but eventually Kane scored, so we finally went downstairs. After pumping some iron, we walked over to Milestones. It's "Date Night" on Wednesdays, so "Dinner for 2 for $50"! Isn't my date so pretty? LOL! First, we shared their Crispy Honey Phyllo Shrimp. We each had an entree. Nick ordered the Grilled Sweet Soy Salmon. And I got the Certified Angus Beef Top Sirloin! 'C' is for 'Cookie' and it's good enough for me! The food here is just awesome!!! Gratitude Nick.

Trisha & Pooh Bear

So, a little over 3 years ago I met Karen's cousins when I was in the Philippines. This is a shot of Janice with her kids. Ian and Karen brought gifts for the kids, but I felt one of them got left out. I asked them, "What about Trisha, the little one? She didn't get a gift." They replied, "Oh, don't worry about it. They'll share." Share? Share?!? Being an only child, the thought of sharing was incomprehensible to me. LOL! I made it a point to get her something on this trip before I flew back to Vancouver. A couple of weeks later, I picked-up this 80th Anniversary Winnie the Pooh Bear at the SM Mall of Asia! I texted Janice and told her I had something for Trisha. Fast-forward to the present now, I get tagged in this photo by Janice on Facebook. At first I thought, "I'm nowhere in this photo." Then I realized, "Ohhh... that's Trisha! Hey, wait a minute. Is that the Pooh Bear I got her?!?" Apparently, she loves him so much, she takes him along with her whenever they sleep away from home. Pooh came with her on their recent trip to Baguio City! Look at them, they're all so cute! Bedtime for Janice, the kids, and Pooh... Who doesn't love Pooh? I actually got one for myself too. ;) It's kind of funny, but this whole thing actually made my day. Thanks Janice!!!

MOMO's Got New Pedals

She's got new pedals alright! I finally got a chance to install them after getting Brian at Ace Cycles to remove my old stock pair. These are the Limited Edition Black MKS GR-9 Platform Pedals and... Black MKS Toe Clips which I bought both from Bell's Bike Shop. I got the Black MKS Alpha Spirit Leather Straps from Reckless near Granville Island. I did rip-off the reflectors from my old pair and attached them on the new ones though. Vancouver's got shitty drivers, so I don't want to chance it. All together, I think I spent approximately $75 CAD on these pedals. Can't wait to try them out!
