Luke's Lightsaber is Going into Space!

To mark the 30th anniversary of the Star Wars series, NASA will be taking the lightsaber prop used in"Episode VI: Return of the Jedi" into space! On October 23, 2007, Luke's lightsaber will be launching with the astronauts aboard the Space Shuttle Discovery. I think this is so cool. Now, if only NASA can make a real lightsaber, that would be totally awesome! Click here for more photos of the hand-off.

Gone to Kits...

I went down to Kitsilano today to visit a few friends. I dropped by Jocelyn and Al's place first, to pick-up their copy of "Daywatch" and to see how their moving out was going. They're moving to a new place at the end of the month. I thought I'd take a few last shots of their place for their memoires. Here's Maribel and her kids helping out in the packing. I didn't help with any of the packing, but I did eat some watermelon, an apple strudel, and drink some flat Coke. LOL!!! Thanks, Joce. Later, I walked over to Kleider Studios to see Alex and Veronique. Here's a few shots of Alex's knee after his surgery. He had to get a few torn ligaments repaired. Actually, he almost died on the operating table after some complications from the anesthesia!!! But things are all good now. Here's Chewy, who should have been named "Vader" because he's such a bad boy. LOL!!! We all went down to Tatlows for dinner. It looked like they got a new sign installed. I ordered the Broiler Bar New York Striploin and Alex shared the Seafood Chowder with me. The chowder was awesome! I'm going back there for more.

The Canucks' New Jersey

The Vancouver Canucks unveiled their new jersey at GM Place this afternoon. My initial reaction when I saw it was of utter disappointment. I thought, "Whatever... This is what we've all been waiting for?!?" In my opinion, the new look is pretty lame and boring. Get rid of that frackin' whale already! They should have just gone with the "vintage" look or better yet, the old "Canucks Skate". I've always been a fan of that jersey, plus they went to the Stanley Cup Finals twice wearing that logo! I never did buy the last "orca" jersey and I won't be running to the store to buy this one either. See, just look how good Linden looked wearing the "skate" jersey below. Aaahhh... yes, those were the good ol' days.

Back to Seattle (Day 2)

"Good morning, Joy." Here she is checking out my blog. "Oh, Sonny..." "Sonny, Sonny, Sonny..." Sonny performed a quick inspection of Joy's bag. He was satisfied, the bag was clean of any contrabands. Joy posing with the hotel security. Sonny waiting outside his parent's bedroom... Here's Joy displaying Jackie's unopened iPhone box. It's become a tradition now, to pose on the patio of Hotel JackieDre's before departure. We drove down to the Seattle Piers to get something to eat. Waiting to cross the street... Joy didn't want to sit in the seat because it was wet. LOL!!! We decided to have brunch at Ivar's. It was located at 1001 Alaskan Way in Seattle's waterfront. We had a great view of the ships docked at the harbour. We watched the ferries going in and out of their ports. Time for the Brunch Buffet... The dessert section... These were actually my second and third plates. I forgot to take a picture of the first because I was so hungry. Great food at a great location! Dre took it easy this time. LOL!!! After our meal, we did a little shopping downtown. Here's one of the unique hogs that you can spot in various places of the city. I walked across the street to the Adidas Store and picked-up this Chelsea Track Jacket for $60 USD. I have it now, so don't buy it. LOL!!!The downtown mall, Westlake Center... It was so funny because Shellaine, Joy, and I were on the hunt for those soft plush blankets that Jackie had at her house. Each of us eventually bought one. LOL!!! The Nordstrom Rack, where you can buy well-known brand name products for less. We walked over to the Three Dog Bakery because Jackie had to buy a birthday cake for Sonny. Inside, we met Peri. A Great Dane with a brindle coat. Someone shocked me with all the barking. It was this little dude! When we left the store, a bird took shit on Jackie's arm! I told her to buy a lottery ticket. LOL!!! Hotties spotted... Our next stop was the Pike Place Market."oong glang oong glang oong glang..." "Hey There Delilah..." I just kept singing that song because I like it. Walking inside... It kind of reminded me of Vancouver's Granville Island Market. Some views of the Seattle waterfront... Later in the evening, we went to Jeff's place for a barbecue. Two of Jeff's friends brought a karaoke microphone, so we did a bit of singing tonight. Posing with Leanne... Joy and Leanne... Everyone else played this new board game. Thanks for all the good times you guys!!! "oong glang oong glang oong glang..." We drove back home around midnight and when we arrived at the border, there were no other cars. So no line-ups, baby!!! I guess that's the best time to cross it. LOL!!!
