Fred Le Grand

Guess who's in-town? It's Frederick on a business trip!Marife, Rich, and I met him for lunch at Daimasu Sushi at Metrotown. This was my Crunch & Munch Combo which comes with a cola and a salad for under 10 bucks. After our meal, Fred headed for the airport as the rest of us chilled out in Richmond. See you next month, Fred!!!

American Idol Season 7: Amy Flynn's Audition

This virgin cheerleader's facial gestures before and after the judges' comments made me laugh, especially when Simon gets in on the action. LOL!!!

Running Around Town

I took a few shots of Downtown Vancouver today as ran some errands. Here's one of Hotel Vancouver with the under construction Shangri-La Condotel in the back. The Shangri-La is the tallest building of the city skyline and it's not even finished yet! There goes a SeaBus. Inside Waterfront Station... The Lions, I've been on top of the western peak once! North Vancouver... The Vancouver Convention Centre Expansion Project... A view down Howe Street... A met up with Fatty and Veronique in the evening and we went to Jolly's Indian Bistro for dinner. It's located at 2778 West 4th Avenue (@ MacDonald Street) in Kitsilano. Veronique and Alex... We all ordered their Butter Chicken. Usually, when I order this dish anywhere else, I disregard the chicken completely and just eat the sauce with Naan (similar to my childhood approach of just eating the skin of KFC), but Jolly's Butter Chicken is so good that I ate everything except the cutlery! After dinner, I went with Misha to the Hollywood to watch "Things We Lost in the Fire". I was actually quite surprised how good this movie was, being that it was produced in Vancouver. I haven't been too impressed lately with the city's recent productions, especially after watching "In the Name of the King", but this one is worth seeing. I'm curious now about "Juno". I'll never forget Fatty's earlier comment in the apartment. "Halle Berry, what an amazing actress... Did you see 'Catwoman'?" LOL!!! (I hadn't laughed so hard in awhile. That was a good one, Fatty!!!)

Studio Collective

Sadly, our Studio Collective scene study class has come to an indefinite hiatus tonight. Our teacher, Craig will be moving in with his sweetheart, Abby in Toronto. Hopefully, when they return later in the year, we can continue our acting sessions again. Happy Birthday Craig and thanks for the lessons! We'll try to "suck less" in acting from now on. LOL!!! All the best you two.

Cards with the 'Tards

A bunch of us got together at Henry and Betty's tonight to play a little Texas Hold'em. Imagine my surprise when I walked in the house and saw Danny's old friend, Alex there. I remember joking to Bruce and Brian just before we walked inside, "Hey guys, I think I saw a white guy in there!" LOL!!! The latest Honda model, Allison... It was so funny, we couldn't get enough of playing this game. We must have had 8 sessions. I think we went well passed 5 in the morning. LOL!!! I ended-up winning just $50 from the evening.

Bittersweet Friday

We drove around for a bit to meet up with Nat. It was good to see her again, but too bad it had to be under tragic circumstance. My condolences Natalie. Jeff was in town as well for the funeral. We headed off to Langley shortly after to attend a birthday party. Our speed skater getting out of the van at Nicholas and Tamara's place... Jeff's bubble butt still exists! LOL!!! Nicholas installed a whole gym set downstairs! He paid less than a grand for it. The little brother is just gonna get huge. Gathering at the kitchen... Jeff eating his salad from Wendy's... Andrew, one of the birthday boys... Jeff and Duff... We all celebrated Alex, Misha, and Andrew's birthday tonight. Tamara came up with this idea for the cake! C'est moi... I'm always ready to devour anything at the Nikita Estates. The birthday trio: Andrew, Misha, and Alex. Happy Birthday Boys!!! Blowing out the candles... Matt and Angie reunited... Duff just got back from Thailand last month. The gracious host and hostess of our party, Nicholas and Tamara... Thanks you too!!! The birthday cake rearranged... That's right bitches. If you ain't got no money, you ain't gettin' no honey from Fatty! Here's Chewy playing ball with Gavin. Nicholas making a protein shake for his brother, Misha... Ready to blend... Alex and Josh... Alex believes that CDs will be out of use in the next 3 years. Josh observed that girls talk about the most stupidest things like clothes and wedding shit. (He told me this in private.)Jeff disagrees with Alex's statement. Leah and Carla... Carla later commented that the guys talk about the geekiest shit, computers and electronics. Geeks!!! (This was amusing since it was her fiance, Josh that made an earlier comment about the girls' topics.) Gavin and Nicholas... Alex and Nicholas spotting Duff at Muscle Beach... "Yeah, yeah!!! You can do it!!! Yeeeaaahhh!!!" Look, Jeff has an iPhone too. He unlocked it himself. Leah posing with Aunt Jemima... All the while, Tamara's in the hot tub outside thinking, "Who the hell is that in my house wearing a doo-rag?!?" LOL!!! Filipino Spider-Man... Duff in control of my camera now... Andrew... Duff and Misha... Josh and Leah waiting to go home now... Carla with the doo-rag removed... On the way back to Vancouver, we stopped by a Tim Horton's. This is probably the worst location ever, #100-8590 200th Street, Langley. The staff at night have a difficult time understanding perfect English and have no concept of efficiency. Check it out. It was snowing when we left! "This location sucks!!!"
