I went down to the Roundhouse Community Arts & Recreation Centre to watch "Bagobo" (a Filipino dance production by Kathara Canada.)
It was Thai who told me all about this event.
He got hired to emcee it.
He interviewed the merchants...
and all the performers.
They had singing...
and dancing here.
Paintings by Filipino artist Bert Monterona were on display.
JR got interviewed by ABS-CBN.
Time for the Sky People to dance.
They got some of the audience to participate.
Look at all those feet go!
The Southeast Asian Cultural Heritage Society.
And now "Bagobo"!
Nice outfits.
They're stick fighting,
not breakdance fighting. ;-)
Their presentation is based on the Lumad People.
Bowing at the end.
They invited the rest of the audience to close things out. LOL!
In the evening, Nick and I watched "Captain Phillips". It's a good movie, but I had a hard time watching it. Let's just say I'm really starting to hate the use of Steadicams!
Gratitude to Niko for the flick and pizza!!! :-)
