After all the rehearsals and preparation, the day had finally come for the big show.
"Brilliant!" is
A Show of Love for Mental Health. It's a charity event organized by
Dean Thullner and friends as a way of giving back to
St. Paul's Hospital.
I arrived at the
Commodore Ballroom just in time to make some of my dress rehearsals.
A view from the audio/visuals booth...
Meeshelle was with me first...
and eventually Angela joined us!
The tables were being set.
The dancers went through their routines once more.
And what do we have here?
It's me!
They slapped a purple wig on me to wear for the opening scene!
J.R. placed it on my head...
and Gavin went to work on it.
Meeshelle was getting one too.
Hehe...
J.R. worked on Meesh...
while Gavin...
trimmed my bangs.
"Looking good Meesh!"
She was all smiles...
as I was acting tough. LOL!
This look reminded me of the character
Thorgrim from
"Conan the Barbarian". ;-)
There's our man,
Dean Thullner rehearsing his scene!
He's fucking awesome!
Meesh was ready to go!
The dancers from our
Africa scene...
I ran into my friend, Julia! She was one of the many models volunteering for this event.
Time to get our make-up done at the
Volume Studio Gallery.
Angela parked herself beside the scrotum painted artwork on the wall! Haha!
This beautiful salon is owned by
Dean and his husband, Dave.
All made-up, but as Angela pointed-out, I still look the same. Haha!
The
Commodore Ballroom was teaming with guests when we returned!
1500 tickets were sold-out for this event!
Excitement was in the air!
I had a chance to find some solace in a toilet stall. Hehe...
The Vogue Team was all ready to open the show!
Murray took a good one with his camera. :-)
"Let's do this!"
A pair of dancers...
The line-up of performers backstage...
Pauline was here too...
with her boyfriend, Justin!
We were all taking photos with each other...
because everyone was dressed...
in unique awesomeness!
Oh my goodness, Cara was here as well! I didn't even recognize her. LOL!
Here goes another wig on my head!
Meesh and I were
tuk-tuk drivers in the
Southeast Asia scene.
Murray was caught by Angela! We all worked the
Africa scene together.
After performing in three scenes,
I was done, so I enjoyed the rest of the show amongst the guests.
There's our butterfly,
Amanda!
After being chased by Angela throughout the show, the butterfly eventually landed on her finger on her own accord. :-)
At the end of the show,
Dean Thullner presented our principal dancer, Amanda with a bouquet of flowers for her amazing performance!
Time to hit the dance floor with Ange!
We danced into Mandi here!
Angela introduced me to her friend, Lori who also volunteered tonight.
After a bit of wine, I was feeling pretty good when Dona joined us! Hehe...
Perfect,
we got a photo with
Dean and his husband, Dave before leaving!
Angela, Mandi, and I hit
Granville Street...
on our way to
Fritz.
Angela kept her cool do tonight.
I was still hungry, so Ange and I dropped by
Hamburger Mary's. We had so much fun, we can't wait to do it all again next year! :-)

Many thanks to Angela for bringing me into the fold!!!
