Goodbye Gus

Megan and I had to let go of our best friend today.
Gus' recent bouts of weakness were due to a number of malignant tumours on his internal organs.  We were devastated when the doctor told us her diagnosis and that there was nothing we could do for him.
However, they were able to stabilize Gus' condition, so we could spend one more day with him.  We brought him over to my mom's place and then to Megan's parents' house for a final farewell to all his family.
Megan and I slept beside him until the next morning.
The following day, we took Gus for one last walk through Bridgman Park and then I spoiled him with some cheeseburgers.
I've never met a more loyal and loving dog like Gus and because of that I tried to bring him everywhere with me.  I literally lost my shadow today.
Words can't possibly express what Megan is going through right now.  She basically was robbed of her life partner far too soon.

Gratitude to the kindness shown by Dr. Karen Harvey and the staff at the Vancouver Animal Emergency & Referral Centre.

Eternal thanks to Megan and her family for letting me be a part of Gus' life.
Farewell to my most awesome friend.

Gus & Sara

I may have given-up on transit, but I'll never give-up the Gus Bus!  ;-)
Gus and I picked-up Sara this afternoon...
for a walk through Bridgman Park.
In the evening, we finally watched "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part I"!  We enjoyed it.  Now, I must have her bow!  :-)

Sunny Saturday

I got woken-up by the Orange One this morning!
Melody sent me a selfie of her cat Mario!
She also sent me a photo of the line-up for the "Arctic Air" set sale today.  :-(
Since it was so beautiful outside, I went by Brian and Charlene's place to pick-up the Gus Bus!
I took him to Bridgman Park for a walk.
The last time I was here was with Dash.
It's still quite scenic here!
Gus was loving it.  :-)

He got to play in the water.
Eventually, it was time to leave...
and meet Todd aka Burt Reynolds.  Hehe...
Marie and Xander organized a little tea party at the River Market at Westminster Quay so we could finally meet their newborn daughter Raewynn!
Xander with daddy's girl.
When she's not on set, Marie moonlights as Scorpion from "Mortal Kombat"!  ;-)
"Request permission to kiss the baby."
"Permission granted."  :-)
I ordered a Pulled-Pork Sandwich and some Biscuits from the Re-Up BBQ store front here!
Here are couple group shots out on the boardwalk.

Looks like Gus found a new running mate!
He's the best with kids!

Big thanks to Marie and Xander for organizing this gathering!!!  :-)
Before dropping the Bus home, I took him for a walk at Lynn Canyon Park.
"You coming?" asked Gus.  :-)
In the evening, I went bar-hopping with Niko, Stacey, and John.  I texted Amy last minute and she actually joined us for all the fun!  Woohoo!!!  :-)
